We are a non profit 501c3 charitable organization, made up exclusively of dedicated volunteers committed to saving as many lives as possible. We are a non breed specific rescue primarily for dogs and cats, but have even given refuge to disabled chickens and a turkey in the past. We receive no government funding and rely entirely upon donations and volunteers.

Our mission is to provide assistance and sanctuary to animals in immediate danger or facing harm. To provide support to homeless, abused and unwanted pets, while attempting to find loving, forever homes. Also, to promote spay and neuter programs, therefore helping to alleviate the perpetual cycle of unwanted pets, unnecessary euthanasia and overcrowded shelters. We are partnering with the Columbus Humane Society and their Community Cats Initiative Program, where feral cats are humanely trapped, spayed/neutered, rabies vaccinated, and returned to their colony to live healthier lives, as well as significantly reducing the feral cat population.

MEDICAL CARE FOR THOSE IN NEED

We take a holistic approach when providing care for our animals. Preventative care is an important part of our routine. We try to incorporate Integrative medicine with traditional Internal medicine. We provide a good quality kibble as well as home cooked meals. Supplements are important as well, including, but not limited to Omega 3s, Glucosamine Chondroitin, Prebiotics and Probiotics. A lot of these poor babies come to us with a large array of medical conditions, some severe and life threatening. They receive the best care, but sadly don't always survive. Many do though, and go on to live long and happy lives. Heartworm disease, parvo, mange, dermatitis, glaucoma, dental disease, arthritis, brain tumors, and cancer are some of the conditions we have encountered. We need your help to continue. Please consider donating to help them get the care and treatment needed.

Winston/Hemangiosarcoma
Winston had emergency surgery to remove his spleen, which stopped the internal bleeding. He had 3 very good months, when suddenly one morning he collapsed and passed within a couple of minutes. We are grateful he did not suffer.

Nilla/ Heartworm disease                             Nilla went through 5 months of treatments and has fully recovered. She has become a lifelong resident with the sanctuary
Aiden/ Renal Carcinoma
After surgery to remove a kidney, Aiden went on to live 13 wonderful months, running and playing like a puppy again!

                                                    Bronco AKA Bernie/ Parvo
Bronco recovered and was adopted by a wonderful family. He is now known as Bernie.

Melodie/ Tumors and nodules attached to mammary glands
Melodie was 10 years old and had never been spayed. Her entire mammary chain was removed on one side due to the extent of the growth covering the glands. Spaying can greatly reduce the risk of developing this type of cancer. Melody is cancer free, was adopted and has gone on to living a happy life with her forever family.

Maxie/ Metastatic Mesothelioma
After many tests including a thoracentesis, a procedure in which a needle is inserted into the chest cavity to suction fluid into a syringe, it was determined that Maxie had cancer. Her chest continued to fill with fluid and a port was placed under the skin to enable the fluid to be drained safely. Much to our dismay, she declined at a rapid rate and was unable to fight this disease that had attacked her body. Sadly, she passed away suddenly a week later as I held her in my arms.

Peaches/Dermatitis, Brain Tumor
Peaches did not survive. Her brain tumor was too far advanced and it was decided that the only humane thing to do was let her  go peacefully, surrounded by love as she crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Bazooka/ Mange
Bazooka recovered. His hair is beautiful, and he is still waiting for his forever home. UPDATE: Adopted and living the good life with his new daddy.

Moose/Parvo
Sadly, our Moose did not survive. He passed away at the hospital after being treated for five days. He was just a 6 month old puppy who never got the chance to live his life.  RIP sweet boy.

Izzy/Osteoarthritis, Glaucoma, dermatitis                Izzy came to us as a temporary foster. She has multiple medical issues including heart disease which requires several medications. She is on several supplements for her arthritis and her glaucoma worsened with time. In order to relieve the pressure and pain doctors  performed an enucleation of one eye. A little over a year later it became necessary with the second eye. Izzy is doing well and has also become a beloved permanent resident.

Nutmeg/Luxating patella and severe dental disease
Nutmeg was a 10 year old whose kneecap was sitting off to the side of her leg. Surgery was performed to put her kneecap back in place and a groove was placed in the bone for the kneecap to sit firm. She had such severe dental issues that they had to do 17 extractions. Nutmeg recovered nicely with therapy,  was adopted and is living happily ever after!
